Please see the Facebook window to the left or better yet go to our Facebook page for the latest fishing report. August 10:
We've had several successful trips since July 7th. I've been posting reports on our facebook page "New Gravy Sportfishing" Ill add a link here once I figure out how to do it. Wednesday we headed north to Mussel Rock and trolled for limits of Chinook from 25" to 10lbs for 5 anglers. Looks like our next trip will be Friday August 19th unless the weather outlook get markedly better. Give us a call if you'd like to join us. July 7: We ran today with light winds and calm seas for our crew, I sure wish we could have this kind of weather everytime, it makes life much more enjoyable! We picked-up live bait for our rockfish and the rockfish just snapped at our offering of lively anchovies, every drop yielded a mixed bag of Local rock dwellers and Lings too! Live bait fishing is a great way work the Local spots and we did just that for Limits! Buts thats not the end of the report, we also heard of a King Salmon bite and while we were enjoying the day why not go for some of that Pink Meat, couldn't think of a good reason not to go so off we went and after weeding thru some acrobatic Silver Salmon who got us to go "WHOA Look at that one Jump!!" and a hand full of Kings who we shook at the boat that may have made the grade but we released em unharmed to find 3 that were definatley the Kind and plenty big even though things appear larger in the mirror. So all in all another beautiful day with Limits of Rockfish and 3 King Salmon to 14lbs. July 2: Well, we're into July and the June winds are behind us right? Wrong again, the winds are still crankin along and our crew today was intent on gettin there's and Capt Guy along with our deckhand Johnathan were there to please. Capt Guy fished off of San G for Limits of mixed bag of Rockfish and 3 Lings for his Guests. We had an 80 year old fisherman who didn't want to fight the crowds and brought his own chair along. Johnathan told him when the New Gravy was exciting the Jaws that he may want to get in the cabin until the boat got to the grounds, he replied, "You Candyasses get in the cabin, I'll stay on the deck". Thats an old salt for sure. The winds were coming on when I talked with Capt Guy and he decided to cancel the trip for tomorrow, I know he watches the weather very carefully and always has his Guest safety and comfort in mind when he cancels a trip. When the winds subside hopefully soon, we'll be booking trips for Albacore, the New Gravy has a new Live well just installed and a HUGE fish hold to keep the catch chilled and fresh. The New Gravy has roomy bunks for 6 anglers and a Heated Cabin. Give Capt. Guy a call and get on the list for some offshore Tuna Fishing aboard the New Gravy! June 28: We headed out in search of the Kings and at the 19 line outta HMB in 270ft we nailed a 18 pounder! in the Fog and rain, I guess the Salmon don't care about the weather and when this King came over onto the deck we didn't either. We also ran on over to Martins in hopes of getting a Striper or two, or three but no love. Smiles all around today, a little wet but we'll dry out and give it another try.
